About tim...

Tim Newman, originally from Deshler, NE. earned his certificate in massage therapy from Dr. Welbes’ College of Massage Therapy in 1992.  After completing additional seminars about how the nervous system has effects on the muscular and skeletal systems, Tim became certified in neuromuscular massage therapy (CNMT) in 1999 and was one of the first in Nebraska to have completed certification.  Tim chose the specialized profession after he personally experienced the benefits of neuromuscular massage to alleviate the pain from an injury that doctors could not relieve without medication.  Tim is also a member of the American Massage Therapist Association (AMTA).

Tim’s experience includes ten years working with physical therapists at Hruska Physical Therapy.  This close working relationship taught Tim many techniques in aiding range of motion and functional kinesiology.  Tim also trained with the experts at the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and incorporates many of those concepts into his treatment plans. Tim instructs clients in ways to change daily patterns to provide pain reduction.  Tim maintains collegial relationships with several chiropractors, spinal and neurological physicians, and mental health counselors.

Tim recently completed his personal training certification through the National Association of Sports Medicine. Tim incorporates this knowledge into his practice by educating clients about proper technique, form, and exercise programs to prevent injury, maintain physical wellness, and restore strength. This wholistic approach is a distinct aspect of Tim's practice and the city of Lincoln.
